The structure of bauxite deposits of Seydisehir (Turkey) were investig
ated by simple but effective statistical analysis. The results obtaine
d under variable aluminium oxide contents were used to generate an emp
irical relationship by plotting, at different scales, (A(1)/A(2)) vers
us (S-1/S-2), where A(1) is the percent aluminium oxide, A(2) is the m
ean percent aluminium oxide, S-1 is the percent silicon dioxide and S-
2 is the mean percent silicon dioxide. As a result of these trials, it
was found that the use of logarithmic coordinates gave a straight lin
e with the empirical equation for the system in question being: A(1) =
1.010 . A(2) . S-1(0.016). S-2(-0.016).
