Abstract
Better understanding of the vascular anatomy of the hand and of flap p
erfusion allows the hand surgeon to perform single-stage reconstructio
n of digital defects through a multitude of island flap transfers. The
usefulness of more than 20 separate island flaps is discussed, and th
e technique of flap transfer is presented for each.
