Abstract
The Green Hermit Hummingbird, a polytypic trochilid, occurs in Trinida d, eastern Venezuela and from Costa Rica southwards through the Andes to Peru. Behaviour, display and song of lekking males from Yotoco, sou thwestern Columbia, are analyzed and compared to those of populations from Trinidad and Costa Rica. Strong differences in aerial displays of Phaethornis guy males from southwestern Colombia support the subspeci fic status (emiliae) of this taxon.
