Abstract
We report a case of succesful attachment of a detached Descemet's memb rane using an intracameral injection of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6). Thr ee months after cataract surgery, a 77-year-old woman was seen for alm ost total detachment of Descemet's membrane. Surgical repair with a th rough-and-through mattress suture was unsuccessful. One month later, D escemet's membrane was apposed by injecting 0.25 ml of 100% SF6 into t he anterior chamber. Six months later the central corneal thickness me asured 0.48 mm, and Descemet's membrane was attached. We believe this to be the first reported case of successful attachment of Descemet's m embrane using an intracameral injection of 100% SF6.
