Abstract
Ab initio molecular orbital calculations on the reactions of the trifl uoromethyl radical,which can be easily released from perfluoroalkylami ne by dissociation of C-N bonds with hydroxyl or hydrogen radicals rev ealed the fire extinguishing mechanism of non-bromine-containing halon replacements such as perfluoroalkylamines.
