Abstract
The air oxidation of [Mo-2(CO)(4)(mu-RCCR')(eta(5)-C5H5)(2)] in the pr esence of trimethylamine N-oxide affords the novel organometallic comp lexes [Mo2O2(mu-O)(mu-RCCR')(eta(5)-C5H5)(2)] [R = R' = CO(2)Me or Ph; R = CO(2)Me, R' = H; R = Ph, R' = H) which are characterised spectros copically; the structure of 2O2(mu-O)(mu-MeO(2)C-C-2-CO(2)Me)(eta(5)-C 5H5)(2)] 1 is determined by X-ray crystallography.
