Abstract
The objectives of the study were to compare the actual lagoon treatmen t of raw leachate at a landfill site with an alternative employing a s ingle basin sequencing batch reactor(SBR). The SBR treating the anaero bic lagoon effluent is the best option. The stricter suspended solids limits can be met most of the time at steady state but are consistentl y exceeded during unsteady state conditions. BOD, COD and nutrients re sidual concentrations where within the stricter new proposed regulatio ns in Quebec, Canada. In this study, the raw leachate SBR could not me et the COD and SS removal requirements of the proposed regulation. Cop yright (C) 1996 IAWQ.
