Abstract
A facile synthesis of a series of novel ubstituted-3H-[1,2,4]triazino[ 6,1-b]quinazoline-4, 10-diones (4a-4q)through the reaction of rbethoxy -3-ethoxymethyleneiminoquinazolin-4[3H]one (2) with alkyl, aryl, aralk ylamines and hydrazines has been reported. This one-pot methodology is simple, straightforward and affords a wide range of the title compoun ds in excellent yields. Of the various derivatives tested, compound 4h has exhibited analgesic activity comparable to aspirin, when evaluate d in rodents.
