Ak. Pathak et al., NMR SPECTRAL INVESTIGATION .35. NMR-STUDIES OF 20-BETA-HYDROXYECDYSONE, A STEROID, ISOLATED FROM TINOSPORA-CORDIFOLIA, Indian journal of chemistry. Sect. B: organic chemistry, including medical chemistry, 34(7), 1995, pp. 674-676
By using 1D and 2D NMR spectra, including H-1-H-1 and H-1-C-13 long- a
nd one-bond shift correlation, and NOE-difference spectra the structur
e of a steroid, isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of the aerial
parts. of Tinospora cordjcolia has been established as 2 beta, 3 beta,
14 alpha, 20 beta, 22 alpha, 25-hexahydroxy-5 beta-cholest-7-en-6-one
(20 beta-hydroxy-ecdysone) (1). All H-1 and C-13 resonances have been
unequivocally assigned.
