Transfer and excitation (TE) processes which occur in collisions betwe
en He+ ions and He atoms are investigated through the continuum distor
ted wave approximation with four bodies (CDW-4B) proposed by Gayet and
Hanssen. State selective CDW-4B cross sections have been calculated f
or this symmetrical collision system. A particular attention is paid t
o possible interference effects between resonant (RTE) and non-resonan
t (NTE) modes. CDW-4B results are in reasonable agreement with previou
s experimental data.
