Large amplitude free vibrations of a clamped orthotropic shallow spher
ical shell resting on a Kerr type elastic foundation are investigated.
A detailed parametric study is conducted involving shell geometry and
three foundation parameters. The effects of these variables on the fr
equency-amplitude characteristics are plotted and discussed. It is not
iced that shells with immovable clamped edges are more prone and vulne
rable to changes in the above mentioned parameters than those with mov
able clamped edges.
