Abstract
The effect of high-voltage electric Fields on the degradation of penic illin G has been studied in the context of the electrostatically enhan ced solvent extraction of penicillin from whole broths. Eight paramete rs (voltage, penicillin G concentration, pH, presence of whole broth m aterial, electrical polarity, solvent exposure, joule heating and resi dence time) were studied.
