Abstract
We have discovered two unusual restriction endonuclease (ENases) in tw o Campylobacter jejuni strains that recognize asymmetrical, interrupte d sequences and cleave the DNA both before and after their recognition sites. Both enzymes require AdoMet as a cofactor for their ENase acti vity.
