Abstract
The growth of laparoscopic procedures has resulted in a new set of sur gical complications. Strategies for solving problems in the open surgi cal setting are not applicable to the laparoendoscopic setting. To imp rove the specificity of reporting complications and to enhance their d iscussion at:morbidity and mortality meetings, we propose a new catego ry of surgical complication: error in laparoscopic strategy.
