Absolutely calibrated measurements of the reflectivity of Saturn in 19
92 are presented. The observations were carried out using a Circular V
ariable Filter in combination with a photometer with a single element
InSb detector at the 1.54 m Carlos Sanchez infrared telescope of the O
bservatorio del Teide in the Canary Islands (Spain). The spectral rang
es covered were 1.4-2.4 mu m and 2.6-4.5 mu m. Besides the measurement
s at the disk, values of the reflectance of the Saturn's rings in the
West Ansa were obtained. A comparison with the few related published w
orks is made, and the significant spectral features in this wavelength
region are discussed. A spectrum of Jupiter obtained in 1993 is also
presented and compared with spectra obtained by us in 1991 using the s
ame instrumental configuration.
