Abstract
A modified variational principle for analysis of Reissner plates on an elastic foundation is presented. The foundation may be of Winkler typ e or Pasternak type. A hybrid Trefftz (HT) finite element (FE) model h as been developed based on the principle and a new set of T-complete f unctions. Several numerical examples are considered to assess the effe ctiveness of the proposed method.
