Abstract
A study was undertaken to test whether a live FIPV vaccine would prote ct 9-week-old feline coronavirus seronegative kittens from feline ente ric coronavirus (FECV)-induced enteric disease. The vaccine appeared t o be safe when administered to kittens of this age. Vaccinated kittens demonstrated protection to FECV challenge-exposure compared to nonimm unized animals as evidenced by milder disease signs and less virus she dding in their feces.
