Abstract
This paper describes the fluorescence properties of EU(3+):(Gd,Y)OCI P owder Phosphors emitting RED colour. The suitability of the host matri x and the influence of Eu(3+) concentrations on observing brighter flu orescence were studied. The measured emission bands of these luminesce nt phosphors have been characterized by determining their stimulated e mission cross-sections and also by a computation of their colour co-or dinates.
