Yc. Ou et Zz. Yu, EFFECTS OF INTERFACIAL ADHESION ON MICRODAMAGE AND RHEOLOGICAL BEHAVIOR OF GLASS BEAD FILLED NYLON-6, Polymer international, 37(2), 1995, pp. 113-117
Model composites consisting of glass beads dispersed in a matrix of ny
lon 6 with different degrees of interfacial adhesion were prepared. Th
e effects of interfacial adhesion on damage generation in the glass be
ad filled nylon 6 were studied by acoustic emission monitoring and sca
nning electron microscopy, and the critical damage stress was measured
. Improvement of the interfacial adhesion enhanced the tensile strengt
h of the composite. The melt theological behaviour of the glass bead f
illed nylon 6 was also investigated. It was found that the interfacial
adhesion strength significantly affected the theological behaviour of
the glass bead filled nylon 6.
