VALUE OF DOBUTAMINE ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY FOR EVALUATION OF THE RESERVE MYOCARDIAL-CONTRACTILITY OF AORTIC-STENOSIS WITH ALTERATION OF LEFT-VENTRICULAR FUNCTION - A CASE-REPORT
L. Deluche et al., VALUE OF DOBUTAMINE ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY FOR EVALUATION OF THE RESERVE MYOCARDIAL-CONTRACTILITY OF AORTIC-STENOSIS WITH ALTERATION OF LEFT-VENTRICULAR FUNCTION - A CASE-REPORT, Annales de cardiologie et d'angeiologie, 45(9), 1996, pp. 523-526
The authors report a case of tight aortic stenosis, without coronary a
rtery disease, presenting with heart failure, alteration of global lef
t ventricular contractility and a low gradient. increasing-dose dobuta
mine echocardiography demonstrated an improvement of myocardial contra
ctility and an accentuation of the transvalvular gradient. The place o
f this examination in the therapeutic strategy and follow-up of the di
sease is discussed in the light of the current data of the literature.
