Q. Jiang et al., C-P MEASUREMENTS AROUND THE MARTENSITIC-TRANSFORMATION TEMPERATURE OFA CUALNI ALLOY, Materials science & engineering. A, Structural materials: properties, microstructure and processing, 196(1-2), 1995, pp. 165-169
C-p measurements on a CuAlNi single crystal around its martensitic tra
nsformation temperature are made by differential calorimetry (DSC). Th
e results show that the transformation is not finished at the general
values of M(f) (the finishing temperature of the parent phase --> pare
nt phase transformation during heating). The specific heat difference
between the martensite and parent phase (Delta C-p) is not equal to ze
ro in the transformation temperature range. The critical stress induci
ng the martensite transformation is approximately a linear function of
temperature. However, the Delta S value obtained by the use of a Clau
sius-Clapeyron-like relationship is a little larger than that measured
by DSC.
