The results of the measurement of fusion cross sections sigma(fus) and
mean angular momenta <l> for the five systems O-16+Cd-112, Si-28+Mo-9
4,Mo-100 and Ni-58,Ni-64+Ni-64 are reported. The direct comparison bet
ween the fusion excitation function and <l> (E) confirms consistency o
f the two independent observables. By analyzing the data, in the frame
work of the coupled channels (CC) approach a good overall agreement be
tween experiment and model predictions has been found. In particular t
he influence of 2n-transfer channels with positive Q-values is put in
evidence.
