An. Andreyev et al., LONG FISSION TIME OF HIGHLY EXCITED RADIUM COMPOUND NUCLEI ENDING IN THE FORMATION OF EVAPORATION RESIDUES, Nuclear physics. A, 583, 1995, pp. 153-156
Excitation functions for xn-evaporation channels of the Ne-22+Pt-194,P
t-196,Pt-198 reactions have been measured in the compound nucleus exci
tation energy range of 45-110 MeV. The Gamma(n)/Gamma(tot) = 0.88 +/-
0.07 was obtained ill the range of the excitation energy of 60-100 MeV
from the analysis of the ratios of the formation cross sections for t
he same nuclides produced in reactions with different numbers of evapo
rated neutrons. From this value of Gamma(n)/Gamma(tot) the fission tim
e of (3-5). 10(-20) s is derived for the compound nuclei.
