M. Lunardon et al., PROTON SPECTRA IN COINCIDENCE WITH SUPER-DEFORMED AND HYPER-DEFORMED STRUCTURES IN DY-152, Nuclear physics. A, 583, 1995, pp. 215-220
The hyperdeformed ridge structure recently observed in the reaction of
187 MeV Cl-37 on Sn-120 has been confirmed in a new proton-gamma coin
cidence experiment at the GASP spectrometer and assigned to the nucleu
s Dy-152. Proton spectra have been measured in coincidence with gamma-
rays belongings to the different structures in Dy-152 (oblate, prolate
, super- and hyper-deformed). The deformation of the final evaporation
residue affects only weakly the proton evaporation from the compound
nucleus. Evidence has been found that the energy of the protons in coi
ncidence with the hyperdeformed structure is larger than expected. Thi
s effect is discussed in the framework of the fission-evaporation comp
etition.
