Abstract
Heavy fragments of mass approximately 160u are observed in the reactio n Ar-40 (44 and 77 A.MeV) + Th-232. The data indicates that they are p roducts of high excitation following deep inelastic processes. At 27 A .MeV the yield of heavy fragments is small. Bolzmann-Nordheim-Vlasov c alculations give a good description.
