Abstract
A preliminary soil radon study at the city of Guadalajara has been per formed. The aim of the study was the determination of soil radon conce ntration levels as a source of indoor radon. In August 1993, at the ne arby Ciudad Guzman a fault crossing the city induced ground collapses affecting several streets and a soil radon survey was also undertaken. Radon determination was performed using LR 115 track detectors. The r esults indicate that, as far as soil radon is concerned, the two citie s can be considered as low risk areas for indoor radon assessment.
