The review of papers containing the results of working out and applica
tion of interstitial tumor hyperthermia using ferromagnetic materials
is presented. There was given the description of ferromagnetic seeds a
nd powders. The advantages and disadvantages of ferromagnetic hyperthe
rnia with thermoseeds were noted. On the basis of these data the autho
r consider ferromagnetic particles to be more promising for the heatin
g of human tumors as compared with ferromagnetic seeds. The main discu
table question were raised which are the basis both for the enlargemen
t of investigations of ferromagnetic materials field and optimization
of ferromagnetic hyperthermia method.
