The endocrine function of the thymus and pituitary-adrenal system has
been studied in 97 patients with trophoblastic disease (TD). Severe de
cline of thymic endocrine function due to the increased blood serum le
vels of ACTH and cortisole was noted. It is assumed that the using of
biologically active thymic factors or the substances which induce its
endocrine function for the treatment of TD patients has pathogenetic g
rounds and may favour the improvement of results of the therapy.
