Ns. Sergeeva et al., THE INTERTUMORAL HETEROGENEITY IN DRUG-SE NSITIVITY OF CELLS FROM THEPRIMARY TUMOR AND ASCITIC FLUID IN HUMAN OVARIAN-CANCER, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 16(4-6), 1994, pp. 405-410
For tumor cells isolated from 25 samples of ovarian cancer tissue and
from 35 samples of ascitic fluid of 47 patients 255 curves <<cytostati
c dose effect>> are obtained by MTT-assay and analysed. In 1/3 of case
s the presence of cell subpopulations with different drug sensitivity
was ascertained. The comparative clinical efficiency of cytostatics ir
e the series platidiam-thio-TEPA - adriablastin - 5-fluorouracil - vin
cristine is negatively correlated with frequency of the presence of th
e resistant subpopulation to the corresponding drug. The subpopulation
structure of tumor cells from primary tumor and from ascitic fluid is
different in large number of cases (50.0+/-8.1%). In most of these ca
ses the difference is based on the preferential silting of cells resis
tant to some cytostatics to ascitic fluid.
