By means of subrenal capsule assay (SCA) the sensitivity of 18 esophag
eal squamous cell carcinoma to 7 antineoplastic agents (cyclophosphane
, methotrexate, cisplatin, adriablastine, 5-fluoruracil, prospidine, b
leomycin) was investigated. The primary multidrug resistance was estab
lished for more than 50% of the tumors. The majority of the tumors in
SCA were resistant to cyclophosphane and adriablastine. The number of
tumors sensitive to 5-fluoruracil was 50.0+/-11.8%, to cisplatin - 27.
8+/-10.6% and to methotrexate - 27.8+/-10.6%.
