A study of Lake Cerin in the southern Jura mountains has led to a reco
nstruction of the history of the plant cover from the retreat of the R
hone Wurmian glacier. From a detailed pollen analysis of the base of t
wo cores the Pleniglacial and Lateglacial passage was characterized by
an increase in the frequency of Artemisia at the expense of that of P
inus.
