Abstract
During the period 1982-1992, we collected 49,602 samples of population s of Carabidae using the ground traps method at selected localities in Slovakia. The number of species varied between 24 and 42 at 13 locali ties. Values of diversity ranged from 1.5875 to 2.2970. Values of dive rsity higher than 1.15 characterize a sufficient ecological loading of the area.
