LITTER FALL IN MIXED DECIDUOUS-CONIFEROUS FOREST DURING ONE DECADE (1981-1991), THE NIZKE-TATRY MOUNTAINS, CENTRAL PART OF SLOVAKIA .1. PRODUCTION OF ORGANIC LITTER

In this contribution attention was paid to development of total organi c litter fall in mixed deciduous-coniferous forest with prevalence of spruce (Picea abies) during decade 1981 - 1998. Basic data were obtain ed on the annual organic litter fall, on leaf and non-leaf litter. The results (mean values) are as follows: total organic litter 3.10 tha(- 1).year(-1) hence leaf litter 2.25 tha(-1) (72.6%) and non-leaf litter 0.85 tha(-1) (27.4%).
