Abstract
Copper(I) iodide catalyses the reaction between phenols and dialkylpro pargyl chlorides to give aryl 1,1-dialkylpropargyl ethers 5a-k and 7a- e in good yields and purity. These ethers are important as precursors to the 2H-1-benzopyrans 8a-1 and 9a-e.
