Abstract
A new method is presented for preparing nascent spherulites, which can be used to investigate the formation of spherulites of polymers. Diff erent morphologies of nascent spherulites were found, and they corresp ond to two orthogonal views of sheaf-like entities. Splaying of lamell ae in two dimensions and branching were observed directly. The nucleat ion could not be found to be indicative of shish-kebab morphology.
