Abstract
A TiO2-Fe2O3 gel glass and two optical filter glasses with different c ompositions containing cadmium chalcogenide semiconductor quantum dots have been investigated by small-angle scattering with varying scatter ing contrast (ASAXS). By means of this method it is established that t he amorphous preforms of primary crystallites in the gel glass predomi nantly consist of Fe2O3. The zinc contamination of semiconductor chrom ophores in two optical filter glasses containing ZnO as one of the bas e glass components has been investigated with the result that in the g lass with CdSe microcrystals the crystallites do not show a significan t zinc content. In the glass which includes sulphur instead of seleniu m, CdxZn1-xS mixed crystals are formed. These findings are consistent with differences of the optical absorption spectra of these glasses.
