R. Rouillon et al., IMMOBILIZATION OF THYLAKOIDS IN POLYVINYLALCOHOL FOR THE DETECTION OFHERBICIDES, Sensors and actuators. B, Chemical, 27(1-3), 1995, pp. 477-479
Thylakoid membranes isolated from spinach leaves were immobilized by e
ntrapment in polyvinylalcohol bearing styrylpyridinium groups. The red
uced species produced by photosynthetic membranes are oxidized at a pl
atinum working electrode in a microphotoelectrochemical cell. Free and
entrapped thylakoids were compared for their responses to inhibition
by two herbicides: diuron and atrazine. The detection limits were resp
ectively 2x10(-8) and 2x10(-7) M for diuron and atrazine.
