Kinetic mechanisms of the copolymerization of vinyl acetate with N-vin ylpyrrolidone under conditions of the selective sorption of monomers i s studied, and the applicability of the main kinetic equations for the rate of copolymerization is verified, Experimental data are fitted be st by the Melville equation for the rate of copolymerization. It is sh own that, under conditions of the selective sorption of monomers, the composition and microstructure of the copolymer and the rate of copoly merization can be described by existing equations With specified value s of the ratio [M(1)(0)]/[M(2)(0)] and the effective quantities r(1) a nd r(2) corresponding to experimental conditions.
