A new methodological approach is proposed for studying the relaxation
process in an amorphous polymer. On this basis, a correction is sugges
ted in the graphical-analytical method of determination of the preexpo
nential factor in the Arrhenius-Boltzmann law for the relaxation time.
A correlation is found between the spatial, temporal, and energy spec
tra of the supermolecular organization of a polymer. The effect of mut
ual compensation of the preexponential factors and activation energies
is experimentally established for the basic Arrhenius-Boltzmann equat
ion describing the relaxation time in an amorphous polyimide.
