H. Kizu et al., STUDIES ON THE CONSTITUENTS OF SCUTELLARIA SPECIES .18. STRUCTURES OFNEOCLERODANE-TYPE DITERPENOIDS FROM THE WHOLE HERB OF SCUTELLARIA-RIVULARIS WALL, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 45(1), 1997, pp. 152-160
Five neoclerodane-type diterpenoid lactones, scuterivulactones A, B, C
-1, C-2 and D, have been isolated (scuterivulactone C-2 was separated
as the acetate) from the whole herb of Scutellaria rivularis WALL. (La
biaceae), and their structures have been determined based on chemical
and physicochemical evidence as follows: scuterivulactone A, (4S,11S)-
11-acetoxy-6 alpha benzoyloxy-3,4-epoxy-8 beta-hydroxy-13(14)-neoclero
den-15,16-olide; scuterivulactone B, (4R,13R)-11 beta-acetoxy-6 alpha-
benzoyloxy-8 beta,13-epoxy-3-oxo-15,16-neoclerodanolide; scuterivulact
one C-1, (4R,13R)-11 beta-acetosy-6 alpha-benzoyloxy-3 alpha,4 beta-di
hydroxy-8 beta,13-epoxy-15,16-neoclerodanolide; scuterivulactone C-2,
(4R,13S*)-11 beta-acetoxy-6 alpha-benzoyloxy-3 alpha,4 beta-dihydroxy
-8 beta,13-epoxy-15,16-neoclerodanolide; and scuterivulactone D, (4R)-
6 alpha-benzoyloxy-3 alpha,4 ta-dihydroxy-11,13(14)-neoclerodadien-15,
16-olide.
