There are discussed properties of supported nickel catalysts for steam
reforming of hydrocarbons produced by precipitation of alkaline nicke
l and magnesium oxides from suspension of magnesium and aluminium oxid
es mixed with solution of nickel(II) nitrate. Proposed new method of c
atalysts synthesis - being characterized by increased resistance to co
oking and high activity - does not require the use of precipitating ag
ents thus reduces quantity and toxicity of wastes as well as costs and
manpower requirements of the production. Method flowsheet is also pre
sented.
