Abstract
Biological sludges becoming from secondary settling tanks, i.e. sewage and industrial sludge were dewatered using a pilot-scale filtration p ress. Fly ash (two different samples from Ptolemais and Megalopolis) w as examined as an alternative, cheap sludge conditioning agent. Severa l parameters were evaluated, and good results have been obtained in co mparison with other more conventional used inorganic filtration aids.
