Abstract
A three parameter flowing model is proposed for describing the residen ce time distribution in corotating twin screw extruders. It is a versi on of the backflow cell model described by Levenspiel(2) where the cel ls are crossed by the backflow in a modified pattern. The correspondin g mathematical model is detailed and a comparative test versus the cla ssical backflow cell model using experimental data is also presented.
