Abstract
One presents an extension of a general cubic equation of state (GEOS), proposed in previous works, for applications to phase equilibria calc ulations in mixtures containing very many components, based on continu ous thermodynamics. For VLE calculations in continuous mixtures of par affins, distribution functions of exponential and Gamma-type have been used. Based on a component lumping upon Gauss numerical quadrature fo rmulas, the usual VLE computer programs for discrete component mixture s may be used. As examples, some dew-T and flash calculations in semic ontimous mixtures of paraffins are discussed.
