Abstract
This review deals with recent advances in the study of interactions of nonionic surfactants with proteins, peptides, amino acids, membrane p hospholipids, and organisms. The effect of surfactants on the structur e and biological activity of the interacting biomolecules and organism s is discussed, with emphasis on the impact of hydrophobic and hydroph ilic molecular substructures on biological efficiency.
