Abstract
The action of the molybdenum on the electronic structure of the passiv e films formed on ferritic stainless steels is examined by capacitance measurements. The research is supported by the mathematical analysis of a Schottky barrier where the contribution of multiple bulk electron ic states in the band gap is taken into account. The characteristics o f the electroactive defects in the passive film are determined.
