Abstract
A protein with a molecular mass of about 38 kDa is present in the cyto skeletal fraction of the holothurian muscle, which is tissue specific. This protein was isolated from the muscle of the Far East sea slug us ing preparative electrophoresis and was used as an antigen for the pro duction of polyclonal antibodies. When testing these antibodies on par affin sections of holothurian tissue, it was shown that they interact only with the cells of the muscle coelomic epithelium. Hence, these an tibodies may be used as a cellular marker when studying regeneration i n Holothurians.
