Abstract
Variations in the amylolytic activity of the test system alpha-amylase -starch were studied in sea water from the Barents Sea. The enzymatic degradation of alpha-glycans in the sea water was shown to be inhibite d in the light, while the potential of the medium was restored during the dark phase of photosynthesis.
