Abstract
A time-harmonic electromagnetic plane wave obliquely incident on a los sy multilayered structure is considered. An explicit solution is deriv ed by the use of a vacuum wave-splitting approach. An exact closed-for m formula for the reflection and transmission coefficients for both th e TE and TM cases is obtained. (C) 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
