Abstract
A reconstruction algorithm for determining the complex refractive inde x of the object from measurements of the intensity of the total field is presented. The algorithm is based on an optimization procedure. The simulated results show that the algorithm is very effective in recons tructing refractive index distributions to whch the first-order Born a pproximation cannot be applied.
